Saheli Showcases Programs and Services at Mission Hill Health Fair

On April 9th, 2016, Saheli hosted a table at the Mission Hill Health Fair. This community health fair in Boston’s Mission Hill neighborhood was organized by Mission Hill Health Movement in partnership with the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences to bring information about health care services to the community.

Saheli distributed brochures and flyers outlining our programs and services to dozens of visitors. We also exchanged information with representatives from several of community health organizations, including:

  • Northeastern Crossing, a newly established program that offers free self-care and wellness workshops – such as mindfulness meditation, yoga, and “pop-up music therapy” at lunchtime – to residents and employees in the Longwood Medical Area;
  • Massachusetts Mental Health Center, a clinic at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center that provides psychosocial support to adults and youth;
  • Smart from the Start, a nonprofit that offers school readiness programs and parenting support to low-income families in Boston; and
  • Boston Emergency Services Team, which sends mobile crisis clinicians to “adults and youth in need of crisis intervention for mental health and substance abuse concerns.”
