Rita Shah Is Co-Executive Director at Saheli. She has been part of Saheli for last 24 years. Rita has a Master’s degree in Social Work in Leadership and Management from Simmons College. She is Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has been part of Boston community for last 38 years. She is committed to helping South Asian Families with Healthy relationship, Couples Counseling and Individual Counseling.
She
is President elect for Breakfast Rotary club in Burlington for
2020-2021. She was the
past president of India
Association of Greater Boston, and a Vice President of Indian American
Forum on Political Education.
She is the founder of non-profit 501C
called Friends of Indian Senior Citizen Organization(FISCO) in 2010.
FISCO serves needs of South Asian seniors in Massachusetts to connect
them with resources like housing, social security and Medicare.They
serve $2 lunch every Wednesday at Burlington Senior center and have 200
families as members.
Rita has taught at Shishu Bharati Language
School, organized ESOL and Citizenship classes in Burlington and Lowell
for senior citizens, assisted in the cultural awareness training for
police departments in Middlesex County.
