Nidhi is a sophomore at Harvard College, living in Eliot House. On campus, she is involved as a Senior Staffer for Harvard Model Congress’s Governmental Affairs Committee, serves as the Chair of Education Accessibility for the International Relations Council and volunteers at the Y2Y homeless shelter and as a big sibling for PBHA’s Boston Refugee Youth Enrichment Program. Last summer, she studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, and interned with Senator Booker’s office in Washington D.C. When she first heard about Saheli, she was immediately drawn to the organization’s powerful mission to aid members of the South Asian community to navigate the complex set of challenges surrounding domestic violence and other forms of abuse. She’s enjoyed much of the work that she’s done with Saheli, particularly the research she worked on concerning the mental health struggles of South Asian women and their children. She hopes to help eliminate the stigma in the South Asian community regarding these issues and looks forward to doing more work with Saheli in the future!
