We offer a safe space for survivors to heal, empower themselves, and rebuild their lives free from violence. Our mission is to empower South Asian and Arab women and families to lead safe and healthy lives.


About the role:
As the Community Engagement Coordinator at Saheli, you will play a pivotal role in fostering relationships, building partnerships, and engaging with communities across Massachusetts to raise awareness about domestic violence issues and our organization’s services. You will be at the forefront of our efforts to create a supportive network and mobilize resources to address domestic violence effectively.


Key Responsibilities:

Community Outreach and Education:
● Develop and implement outreach strategies to raise awareness about domestic violence within the community.
● Organize and facilitate educational workshops, seminars, and events to promote understanding and prevention of domestic violence.
● Collaborate with local schools, community centers, faith-based organizations, and other stakeholders to expand outreach efforts.


Partnership Development:
● Cultivate and maintain partnerships with other nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, and community leaders to enhance support services for survivors.
● Identify opportunities for collaboration and joint initiatives to address systemic issues related to domestic violence.
● Represent Saheli at community meetings, forums, and events to advocate for the needs of survivors and raise awareness about our organization.


Public Relations and Communication:
● Develop and distribute promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, and social media content, to increase visibility and reach of Saheli’s programs and services.
● Maintain regular communication with stakeholders through newsletters, email updates, and social media platforms.


Data Collection and Reporting:
● Collect and analyze data on outreach efforts, community engagement activities, and program outcomes to evaluate effectiveness and inform future strategies.
● Prepare reports and presentations documenting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement to share with the management team and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree and passion for social justice.
● Preferred bilingual in a South Asian language or Arabic.
● Previous experience in community outreach, volunteer coordination, or advocacy, particularly in the nonprofit sector (preferred).
● Knowledge of domestic violence issues, trauma-informed care principles, and cultural competency.
● Ability to navigate cross-cultural communication effectively and adapt outreach strategies to resonate with the norms and values of South Asian, Middle Eastern, and North African communities.
● Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
● Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to deliver engaging presentations and represent Saheli professionally.
● Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Compensation & Benefits:
