Shrewsbury – A candlelight vigil was held on Shrewsbury Common Oct. 15 to remember those who have been victims of domestic violence. Local leaders, clergy and residents joined co-hosts from the Against Domestic Violence in Shrewsbury Education (ADVISE) project and Saheli, which advocates for South Asian women.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Those seeking help either for themselves or others are encouraged to call the toll-free National Domestic Violence Hotline, 800-799-7233.
