India Assoc. Of Greater Boston Celebrates India Day

India Day Festival 2018, held with great fan-fare on August 19, 2018, was the biggest celebration of the year for multi-ethnic Indians from across Massachusetts. Held on Boston City Hall Plaza this year, for the first time, the celebration was full of energy, color and joy. Corporate sponsors included smarTours, Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare and BMW of Sudbury. Over 40 vendors exhibited their literature and products, among them Saheli. Thousands of Indian and South Asian families came in from across the state to celebrate India’s 72 Independence Day, democracy, and freedom.

City Hall Plaza attracted tourists, passersby, curious about the colorful dances, eager to taste the many different kinds of food, and the enthusiasm of the organizers. Past attendees will be happy to know that parking was not a problem, it being on a Sunday, many came by T and others used street parking. The weather was balmy and warm, it was a great celebration. Congratulations to the energetic organizing IAGB team and leaders for a memorable event.
